About what?  About me?  OK

My name is Mark Carrara and I am the technology coordinator for the school district of Gilman in Gilman, WI.  We are a small (about 400 students pk-12) rural district in Northern Wisconsin.  And believe or not we have a full time tech coordinator, me!  What does a tech coordinator do, what is my job description?  Well in a small district like Gilman basically I am responsible for anything with a wire.  I maintain, configure, administer , swear at, just about any piece of technology used in a school district from computers to the network to copiers, audio video, theatrical lighting and sound, the web site, phone, I even help with the HVAC system.  Like I said if it has a wire. . ..

I have a mission statement.  Not the school’s or our technology committee’s, but mine personally.  My mission is:

1. To make technology transparent, reliable and secure for the users in our district.

2. To provide the systems and leadership to facilitate communications between and with stakeholders.

3. Create an environment that fosters technology integration into the curriculum.
